You don't need to be a coach to be concerned about your vocal cords. In fact, statistics show that women take better care of their nails.
You have probably lost your voice at least once in your life if not more. Dealing with it at the time is awkward whether you have a job to content with or a household to run. You may have shrugged it off believing it just needs to run its course. Which by the way, isn't always true.
As a coach and a marketing consultant, I spend hours a day on the phone. Add in speaking engagements, workshops and seminars, radio shows, interviews, and television and I push my voice to the limit many weeks.
A few years back, I noticed there was a pattern. I lost my voice more in the spring and fall. The doc said it was from allergies. I'm not a pill popper fan…especially dealing with their side effects. After a few years of the pill popping, I had it. I wanted an alternative. Soon thereafter, and here's where the Law of Attraction played in, a member of my audience, a voice specialist, took me aside during the break and gave me some advice on taking better care of my voice.
Since then, I've only lost my voice once and it lasted two days…not a week or two like before.
She sold me on voice care and I dived into researching the topic. From this research and overcoming my own issue, I wrote an article which was previously published in a few magazines. Now, you have the opportunity to read it on the Internet.
Today, Dr. Hujimy posted it on his blog, "medical blog by dr. hujimy."
